Erin is an attorney in DeWitt’s Intellectual Property practice group. She assists clients with all facets of intellectual property law, particularly patent prosecution, litigation, opinion letters, trademarks and copyrights. In this capacity, Erin helps to prepare domestic and international patent applications and handles the prosecution of those applications through to issuance.
She specializes in the software and computer engineering fields and has successfully assisted clients in receiving patents in these areas, particularly for computer software, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning. She also focuses on assisting startups and individual entrepreneurs in understanding their intellectual property rights, how best to protect those rights, and the potential pitfalls startups and entrepreneurs face in regards to intellectual property protection.
