Isabella Barnard

Isabella Barnard approaches legal matters with careful analysis, clear communication, and practical judgment. She takes the time to understand what matters to each client and works alongside them to address legal issues and identify practical solutions.

Isabella began building her legal experience at DeWitt while attending law school, spending two summers as a summer associate and continuing with the firm as a law clerk. During that time, she collaborated with attorneys on a variety of matters, conducting legal research, drafting memoranda, complaints, and briefs, and participating in mediations, depositions, and court proceedings.

Isabella also gained insight into the judicial process as a legal intern with the Wisconsin Court of Appeals, District I. Her time with the court strengthened her research and writing skills and gave her firsthand perspective on how courts evaluate legal issues and arguments.

Isabella earned her J.D., cum laude, and a Certificate in Litigation from Marquette University Law School, where she served as Senior Articles Editor of the Marquette Benefits and Social Welfare Law Review and was a member of the Moot Court Association. As a member of the association, she competed in a National Moot Court Competition hosted by the UCLA Williams Institute. Separately, she advanced to the quarterfinals of Marquette’s Jenkins Honors Moot Court Competition. Isabella received CALI Awards in Legal Research & Writing and Law Governing Lawyers and was inducted into the Pro Bono Honor Society.

A former NCAA Division I women’s lacrosse athlete, Isabella also held leadership and mentorship roles throughout her undergraduate experience.
