Hannah Balder represents employers, businesses, and individuals in employment and civil litigation matters, bringing a unique blend of legal advocacy and practical workplace experience to her practice. She helps clients navigate complex workplace issues, regulatory compliance challenges, and litigation disputes through a thoughtful, solutions-oriented approach focused on practical results.

Hannah’s practice includes employment law, civil litigation, and workplace compliance matters, with particular experience in disability rights, reasonable accommodations, discrimination claims, and regulatory obligations under federal and state employment laws. She works closely with clients to assess risk, develop effective strategies, and resolve disputes both inside and outside the courtroom.

Prior to joining DeWitt, Hannah served as a staff attorney at Disability Rights Wisconsin, representing clients in matters involving the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and other anti-discrimination laws. She advised clients and organizations on disability rights, accessibility, and workplace accommodations, and developed legal strategies to resolve disputes through negotiation, advocacy, and administrative processes. Hannah drafted demand letters, motions, briefs, and other legal filings that often helped achieve favorable resolutions before litigation became necessary. She also served as a subject matter resource on ADA compliance and disability-related legal issues, with much of her work focused on the intersection of disability rights law and disability justice principles.

Before entering private practice, Hannah gained experience with the Wisconsin Department of Justice’s Civil Litigation Unit and the U.S. District Court for the District of Massachusetts, where she handled a broad range of civil litigation matters and built a strong foundation in legal research, writing, and case strategy.

Hannah’s legal perspective is further informed by her background as a certified rehabilitation counselor. Before law school, she worked extensively with individuals with disabilities and their employers to address workplace and employment challenges, helping clients understand their rights, responsibilities, and opportunities for success. This experience provides her with valuable insight into the practical realities employers and employees face when navigating workplace accommodations, performance issues, and employment transitions.

Known for her collaborative approach and strong advocacy, Hannah is passionate about helping clients resolve disputes, manage workplace risk, and build productive, legally compliant work environments.
