Laurel is an attorney in the Business and Intellectual Property practice groups in the Greater Milwaukee office. Her practice focuses on various areas of corporate law, including mergers and acquisitions, entity formation and governance, corporate real estate, nonprofit formation, and ESOP transactions. Laurel also assists clients in creating custom strategies for trademark protection, including guiding clients through the application and response processes with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO).
Laurel advocates for clients’ interests while providing clients with the tools to make informed, focused decisions. While in law school, she gained extensive experience in sports law, working with the NCAA and D1 universities. In her practice, Laurel has parlayed this experience, along with her excellent writing skills, into providing clients with a well-rounded approach to problem solving and top-tier work product.
Alongside her corporate and intellectual property work, Laurel devotes a substantial amount of time to DeWitt’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion efforts as well as the Firm’s Law Clerk Program. She is passionate about mentorship and believes that having mentors who are representative of the community is vital to a healthy legal environment.
Outside of the office, Laurel enjoys watching hockey, baking, and spending time with her beagle, Emmie.
