Department of Defense Prioritizing Contracts with ESOP Companies

The U.S. Department of Defense has published a Rule to establish a pilot program to incentivize the federal government to issue contracts to employee-owned companies. Interestingly, the definition of a “qualified business” (a business who would qualify under the Rule) includes only 100% ESOP-owned S Corporations. This National Law Review article has more details.
