DeWitt Announces Attorneys Bowen, Johnson, and Williams Buttery Promoted to Partner

Today DeWitt LLP announced attorneys Amanda Bowen, Alex Johnson, and Nicole Williams Buttery were promoted to partner status effective January 1, 2023.

About Amanda Bowen

Bowen joined the firm in 2017 and practices from the Greater Milwaukee office in the areas of Trust & Estates, Business, and Real Estate. She enjoys working with clients at all stages of life to develop a comprehensive estate plan that will provide her clients with peace of mind and works with her client’s current team of professional advisors to coordinate all details of the estate plan from beginning to end. Bowen also practices business law, which allows her to assist business clients in a variety of ways, including new entity formation, corporate governance, mergers and acquisitions, contract review and drafting, and real estate transactions.

She is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and earned a J.D. from Marquette University Law School and a B.B.A. from the University of Wisconsin – Madison. She is a member of the State Bar of Wisconsin and the Waukesha County Bar Association, the Past President of the Volunteer Service Club of Pewaukee and a Board Member of the Probate and Estate Planning Section of the Waukesha County Bar Association.

About Alex Johnson

Johnson joined the firm in 2019 and practices from the Minneapolis office in the areas of Business, Real Estate, Land Use & Construction, and Transportation & Logistics. He is as a transactional attorney representing individuals and businesses to address their legal needs. A large portion of his practice relates to real estate and leasing transactions, and he is well versed in acquiring and selling businesses and real estate and provides insight to clients regarding the legal components and mechanics of the transaction. Johnson represents dozens of motor carriers and assists many of them with their land acquisitions, zoning challenges and leasing matters, along with other general business matters (including the buying and selling of transportation and logistics companies).

He is admitted to practice in Minnesota and earned a J.D. from the University of St. Thomas School of Law and a B.A. from the University of Iowa. Johnson is a member of the Hennepin County Bar Association and the Minnesota State Bar Association.

About Nicole Williams Buttery

Williams Buttery joined DeWitt in 2017 and practices from the firm’s Madison office specializing in Divorce & Family Law. Her primary focus is on assisting clients with thoughtfulness while effectively navigating the most difficult times in their lives. She has experience in matters involving divorce, custody and placement, child support, maintenance, and paternity. She also deals with guardianships, including petitions for guardianship of minors and incompetent adults and has experience serving as a Guardian ad Litem in Dane County Family Court. Additionally, Williams Buttery has experience with temporary restraining orders and injunctions.

She is admitted to practice in Wisconsin and earned a J.D. from the University of Wisconsin Law School and a B.A. from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is a member of the Dane County Bar Association, the Legal Association for Women (“Law”), the Law Alliance and is a Dane County Court-Appointed Special Advocate. She was recently named to the Lawyers of Color Hot List 2022.
