Cody is a Paralegal and Legal Assistant who supports DeWitt’s Family Law and Civil Litigation Practice Groups. Cody brings years of experience as a paralegal to the firm and assists our clients with many important aspects of their cases. From the initial client meeting to the final divorce hearing, Cody will be actively involved in the client’s legal matter by completing a myriad of tasks from assisting clients with the completion of complex financial forms to assisting attorneys in depositions and hearings. He is often the first point of contact for the clients and can address many of their concerns and questions if the attorney is not immediately available.
Cody plays a pivotal role in assuring that a client’s case is actively moving along towards a positive conclusion. Cody is enthusiastic about family law and has a strong foundation of knowledge as it pertains to the legal process of a family law case. Many clients find Cody to be a calming and confident resource for them while facing a very difficult time in their lives.
Prior to joining DeWitt in 2017, Cody worked as a paralegal and firm administrator for a general practice law firm in Portage, Wisconsin, where he acquired experience in civil litigation at the county and appellate levels, real estate transactions and conveyancing, estate planning, personal injury, landlord/tenant matters, and forming LLCs.
Cody graduated form the University of Wisconsin – Stevens Point with a Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science and German and a minor in Public Administration.
